Ekocell Vapour Retarder Variable
Ekocell Vapour Retarder Variable is a polyester-based membrane intended for installation on the warm side of wall and roof constructions (inside the insulation). The product is used to air-seal joints and regulate the movement of water vapour through the building element.
Function
The membrane allows for controlled, bidirectional vapour transport — a controlled amount of moisture can move both outwards and inwards through the construction. This improves the drying potential and reduces the risk of harmful condensation and moisture accumulation.
How it works in Summer:
In high ambient humidity, the membrane opens up and increases the possibility of inward drying.
Winter:
The membrane closes and thus reduces outward moisture migration, which prevents condensation in the construction.
Result
A dynamic vapour regulation that combines good airtightness with increased drying capacity, which contributes to more stable constructions and reduced risk of moisture-related damage.
